Boarding FAQ – Your Questions Answered!

We know leaving your pet can come with a lot of questions. We’ve answered some of the most common ones here to help make your pet’s stay—and your experience—as smooth as possible!

🕒 What are check-in and check-out times?

Boarding check-in/check-out follows a hotel-style schedule:

Standard check-in is from 12:00 PM to 4:30 PM
Check-out is by 12:00 PM (noon) to avoid being charged for the day

If your pet stays past noon on the departure day, you’ll be charged for the full day. This includes continued care, meals, playtime, and the room being held for them.

Sunday evening pick-ups are available, but are still considered a full boarding day.

⏰ Can we drop off or pick up our pet outside of office hours?

We ask that all pets check in during regular office hours.

We do offer pre-arranged pick-ups outside of normal hours:

  • After-hours Monday–Thursday
  • Sunday pick-ups between 2–4 PM only

🚨 After-hours pickups must be pre-approved, require pre-payment of estimated costs, and incur a $25 convenience fee.
To ensure consistent care of our guests, we cannot make exceptions to this policy.

💳 Is a deposit required for reservations?

As of June 1, 2025, a $60 deposit is required for Holiday boarding.
This deposit will go toward your final balance and is refundable if canceled 48 hours or more in advance.

Holiday dates include:
✅ Memorial Day
✅ 4th of July
✅ Labor Day
✅ Thanksgiving
✅ Easter
✅ Christmas

🐾 Can our dogs stay together in the same kennel?

Yes, as long as the kennel size allows both pets to stay comfortably and safely together. We’ll ensure their well-being by:

  • Separating pets during mealtimes
  • Monitoring for signs of aggression or stress

We do not recommend housing pets with a significant size difference in the same kennel. Boarding can be an exciting and sometimes overstimulating environment, which may lead to unintentional rough play or aggression. While this can be risky for any dog, it poses a greater safety concern for smaller pets.

💊 Will you give medications my pet needs?

Absolutely. Our team is trained to administer medications, including for diabetic and seizure-prone pets.
✅ All medications must be in the original container, clearly labeled with:

  • Pet’s name
  • Dosage
  • Milligram strength

We will ask you to fill out an overnight medication instructions form completely and thoroughly.
There is a $10 medication administration fee per boarding stay.

🚨 What happens if my pet has a medical emergency?

If your pet experiences a medical emergency, we will:

✅ Immediately attempt to contact you or your emergency contact
✅ Provide life-saving care if we cannot reach you right away
✅ Discuss options and estimates once we are in touch

Some pets may experience tummy upset from excitement or environmental changes (what we call anxi-orrhea). If needed, our medical team may begin treatment after a thorough assessment.

🧳 What should I pack for my pet’s stay?

To make your pet’s stay as comfy as possible, we recommend:

Food & Treats

  • Bring your pet’s usual food in airtight containers with clear instructions
  • Pre-portioning food into labeled baggies is best! (also be placed into a container with a lid)
  • Bring extra food just in case—especially for extended stays
  • We offer Purina EN for $12/week if needed

Bedding & Toys

  • You’re welcome to bring blankets, beds, or toys from home
  • Please note: some dogs may chew or destroy their belongings while boarding
  • We provide Kuranda beds in every run and have cozy blankets and tough toys available
