Supporting Mobility, Comfort & Whole-Body Wellness

At North Star Veterinary Hospital, we believe in looking at the whole patient when developing a care plan. Veterinary chiropractic care is an integrative therapy that focuses on the relationship between the spine, nervous system, and overall body function to help improve mobility, comfort, and quality of life.

Dr. Krivit and Dr. Mahmoud Ali are both certified in veterinary chiropractic care, incorporating these techniques into personalized treatment plans for small and large animals. With a special interest in horses and equine sports medicine, Dr. Ali brings an additional focus on supporting mobility, comfort, and performance in large animal patients.

How Veterinary Chiropractic Works

The spine plays an important role in supporting movement, balance, and communication throughout the body. When areas of the spine or joints become restricted, it can contribute to discomfort, changes in mobility, and reduced performance.

During a chiropractic evaluation, Dr. Krivit or Dr. Ali will assess your animal’s movement, posture, and areas of tension or restriction. Gentle adjustment techniques may then be used to help improve joint mobility, support comfort, and encourage overall function.

Conditions That May Benefit from Chiropractic Care

Veterinary chiropractic care may help support animals experiencing:

• Joint stiffness or reduced mobility
• Back or neck discomfort
• Arthritis-related changes
• Sports or performance-related concerns
• Muscle tension and soreness
• Recovery after injury
• Gait abnormalities or movement changes
• Age-related mobility challenges

For equine patients, chiropractic care may be especially beneficial for supporting athletic performance, comfort, and overall musculoskeletal health.

Integrative Care for Better Outcomes

Chiropractic care is often used alongside other veterinary treatments to provide a comprehensive approach to health and wellness. At North Star Veterinary Hospital, we may combine chiropractic care with services such as acupuncture, laser therapy, rehabilitation, pain management, and traditional medical treatments to create a plan that best supports each patient.
